Busquets: "It's hard to see anyone else winning 8 out of 11 LaLiga titles"
The iconic midfielder said that even for a club as great as Barça, this record was something unique and special
After claiming yet another LaLiga crown with a 1-0 victory over Levante, FC Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets wanted to point out the achievement of the team winning 8 of the last 11 league titles.
"It'll be difficult for anyone to win 8 out of 11 league titles again. LaLiga has the best teams, who fight for all the European trophies, so it's very difficult to win. What we've achieved is historic," added the midfielder.
Busquets said this underlined the importance of "this generation of footballers" under the command of Leo Messi. "Barcelona is a great club but what we've achieved is even greater. It's true that having the best player in the world makes it easier but the credit belongs to everyone."
The iconic midfielder was happy at closing out the title race against Levante and not having it drag out for another week. "Closing out a league or any title is tough and it was tough tonight. But it was time to finish up the league and focus on the Champions League. If we hadn't done that, this week would've been even tougher."
