The midfielder lamented more dropped points as Barça were held in the south of Spain

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets said Gavi's red card changed the game as the Catalans were held 1-1 at Granada on Saturday.

Luuk de Jong opened the scoring for Barça but Antonio Puertas scored an 89th minute leveller after Gavi was sent off for a second booking with 10 minutes to play.

"The red card changed the game," Busquets told Movistar after more dropped points for Barça, who missed the chance to climb into the top four.

"In the second half, above all with the goal, we should have more possession, go from side to side, wait to create space and chances.

"It's true that they forced us to attack quickly because they pressed high, almost man to man, so when we overcame that we had a lot of space and three vs. threes. But we didn't have to end the plays to so quickly.

"We complicated things with the red card, which completely changed the game and cost us the possession. In fact, in the move before the goal we only had nine men because Dani (Alves) was off the pitch. It's a shame.

"We have to have more patience and more possession to wear (the opposition) down. They wanted the game to be box to box because they were losing."

Despite the setback, Busquets called for time as Barça continue to grow under new coach Xavi Hernandez.

"We have to grow little by little," he added. "We always need three points in LaLiga. We're not in the situation we wanted, our objective is to keep looking up."
