Brazilian side Gremio offer Matheus Fernandes Barcelona escape route
The midfielder is out of favour at Camp Nou and Barça are keen to let him go
Barcelona midfielder Matheus Fernandes could return to Brazil with Gremio with the Catalan club keen to move the midfielder on.
Sources have told SPORT that Gremio have shown an interest in taking the former Palmeiras player on loan ahead of the two-legged Brazilian cup final against his former side in February.
Barça and Gremio have a good relationship having previously worked together on the deal that saw Arthur Melo arrive in Europe.
Matheus, 22, joined Barça last season but has been limited to just 17 first-team minutes this season after spending the second half of last season on loan at Real Valladolid.
Barça paid five million euros to sign him from Palmeiras but Ronald Koeman hasn't deemed him ready of more regular football this season.
