Braithwaite edging closer to Barça comeback after training return

The Danish striker should be back in action before the end of the month

Martin Braithwaite is one of the forgotten players at Barcelona in recent months. Xavi Hernandez's early days as the club's coach have been dominated by absences in attack. The Danish striker has been missing since injuring his knee in September and undergoing surgery.

Braithwaite had started the season in great form. With Ronald Koeman still on the bench, he scored twice in the opening game of LaLiga against Real Sociedad at Camp Nou. He also played against Athletic and Getafe before the first international break. However, it was in that Getafe game when he got injured.

Finally, he returned to training with his teammates on Monday, confirming he's close to a comeback. He's not ready to travel to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Supercopa but it won't be long now. He will continue to train in Barcelona while his teammates take on Real Madrid in Riyadh on Wednesday.
