The Polish striker scored twice in the win over Real Sociedad on Sunday

Robert Lewandowski had a big smile on his face as he spoke to the media after opening his account for Barcelona in Sunday's 4-1 win at Real Sociedad.

Lewandowski, who turned 34 on Sunday, dedicated the goals to his father, who passed away in 2005. The Polish striker said he was keen to score his first Barça goals "to dedicate them to my dad, who is up there."

The ex-Bayern Munich man praised "the hard work of the entire team and the desire we had to win after (drawing) the first game of the season."

He added: "It's just a question of time until we understand each other better and I think we are getting there. It's a great team with young players and others who have more experience and we try to give advice."

Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele, who was also on target, said "I prefer to play on the right than the left," even though his goal came from the left side.

The French winger said "it's much better to have him alongside me" when asked about Lewandowski's impact.
