Bayern are leading the chase for the winger but there's interest elsewhere

When it seemed Leroy Sane was set for Bayern Munich, in recent hours there has been an unexpected twist. According to Bild, both Real Madrid and Barcelona have entered the race for the Manchester City winger, who is expected to leave this summer.

Zinedine Zidane has reportedly asked president Florentino Perez to follow Sane's situation at City, where he has a contract until 2021.

Sane, who is just coming back from a long-term injury, is set on leaving the Premier League side for the right offer and he seems unlikely to extend his current terms where he is.

Given that situation, both Madrid and Barça have perked up, although the reports in Germany suggest that Bayern, who tried to sign Sane last summer, still lead the way.

Kicker claimed recently that Bayern had dropped their interest to focus on other options. But Bayern have not turned the page on Sane, according to Bild, who say there was a meeting last week with LIAN Sports in Munich, the company that represents the German international.
