Bernd Schuster told Onda Cero that Barça "need to sign a replacement for Luis Suarez" this month.
Schuster was speaking after Barça's 1-0 victory over Granada and he believes the team was desperately lacking a focal point of attack in the absence of Suarez.
He went one further and said that the problem couldn't be solved from within the existing squad. "Barça have a major problem following Suarez's injury. Today, neither Messi or Griezmann wanted to play as the 'nine'."
This is why the former German international believes the club must sign someone this month. "I'll never understand the Boateng (signing) last year, because he isn't a central striker, but Barça need a replacement for Suarez."
Suarez has played in 23 matches this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists. He won't be back until May.
