Bernardo Silva says he's staying at Man City despite Barcelona interest

The Portugal midfielder was waiting for an offer from Barça that never arrived

Bernardo Silva says he will stay at Manchester City, appearing to kill any hope of a deadline day move to Barcelona.

Barca are keen to sign Bernardo but financial problems have prevented them from making a move and it looks like they will miss out on him in the current window.

"I’m going to stay at Manchester City. I haven't received any offers," Bernardo told reporters on Wednesday.

“I'm staying in Manchester, I'm happy here and the decision has been made."

Barca have been trying to make enough room within their spending limit to fund a move for the talented Portugal midfielder.

If they managed that, City would have been open to negotiating a deal, with coach Pep Guardiola saying he wouldn't force unhappy players to stay.

However, Barca have not yet been able to make an offer for Bernardo and it looks like their interest will have to be delayed for now.
