The Montpellier number one, at 28 years old, is after a new challenge and could replace the Dutchman as ter Stegen's understudy

As Jasper Cillessen continues to look for a new club ahead of next season, FC Barcelona are drawing up a shortlist of goalkeepers to play backup to Marc-Andre ter Stegen. One of the names on the table is French stopper Benjamin Lecomte. The 28-year-old, who plays for Montpellier, is coming off the back of another solid season in Ligue 1 and might be open to a new challenge.

After coming through the youth ranks at Lorient, Lecomte made his debut in 2010. After struggling to break into the first team he went on loan to Dijon and, on his return, became Lorient's number one. In 2017 he signed for Montpellier in a €2.5m deal and his value now stands at around €12.5m

Lecomte has been linked with a move to PSG. "What I want in my career is a moment I can remember. Whether that's here, elsewhere in France, or abroad, I don't know. I have goals I want to achieve and this is a crucial moment in my career."

Sevilla, with Monchi back in control of their transfer business, are also after the goalkeeper ahead of next season.
