Benfica are open to negotiating Grimaldo deal with Barcelona

The former Barça youngster could return to Camp Nou this month

Barcelona want a left-back in January. They have several options on the table and one of them is Benfica's Alejandro Grimaldo, who left Camp Nou at the end of 2015.

The Portuguese club are open to negotiating and the key to any operation, as is the case with Wolves' Adama Traore, is being able to agree a loan with an obligatory buy clause.

Benfica, in addition, have an interest in some Barça players, be that on a long-term loan or a permanent deal.

The relationship between Barça and Benfica is good. Last summer, they sounded out the possibility of taking Samuel Umtiti on loan, but the Frenchman did not want to go.

Now, they would be open to Oscar Mingueza, Riqui Puig or Alex Balde, who perhaps fits better given he is also represented by Jorge Mendes, who has a lot of dealing with the Portugueuse outfit.

Talks are ongoing, as always, but Barça need to create room within their spending limit first. Grimaldo is ready to return to the club.
