They met the Polish striker on his holiday in a last-gasp effort to try and convince him to stay

Bayern Munich have tried to convince their star striker, Robert Lewandowski, to stay at the club. SkySports Germany announced that Hasan Salihamidzic, the club’s sporting director, flew to Mallorca to meet the forward and his agent Pini Zahavi. The objective was to try and reconcile with him to get him to extend his contract and stay beyond the year he has left. Lewandowski’s desire is to go and he has asked Bayern to let Barcelona strike a deal for him.

This is Bayern’s last-ditch effort to try and keep the forward. They wanted to start from zero with the forward but it’s not possible. Now it’s likely that Bayern will start negotiating for real with Barcelona.

The Catalans don’t want to reach a 40 million euro fee for the forward.
