Bayern Munich looking into punishments if Lewandowski does not show up

The German club are not happy with the striker or the situation with Barcelona

Bayern Munich are preparing for various situations when it comes to Robert Lewandowski. The player is on holiday in Mallorca but his July 12th return date is drawing nearer, when he has to link up with Bayern in preseason. With the club not listening to Barcelona’s offers, he will have to do so.

If he does not attend, then Bayern may look into what sanctions they can take. Sport1.de asked a lawyer specialised in the area about this. Lewandowski could be fined between 1.8 and 3.6 million euros. Another option is to leave him in the stands, although that doesn’t seem likely.

“Bayern always want to have the best possible team. The Pole is without doubt part of that team. The club would be crazy if they stop a player of that quality playing despite his disposition,” said lawyer Dr. Andrej Dalinger.

For his part, coach Julian Nagelsmann and some of his squad, those who were not involved in internationals, started work again for next season on Monday.
