The two clubs will sit down to discuss a deal this week

Lewandowski has told Bayern he wants to leave this summer

Barcelona's move for Robert Lewandowski is about to move into the final straight. Reports in Germany say a meeting between the Catalan club and Bayern Munich will kick start negotiations next week.

Barça have been after the Polish striker since the season ended and have been working on a deal as they wait for Bayern to sit at the table. In that sense, the Bayern club have marked the rhythm of the conversations, keeping in mind Lewandowski has one year left on his contract.

The Blaugrana presented a first offer of €32 million plus €5m in add-ons that Bayern did not even consider. Bayern made it clear they would not even talk until they had signed another attacker first.

That step has now been taken with the arrival of Sadio Mane, who will be presented on Tuesday. From that moment, Bayern will listen to offers from Barça -- but they will start at €50m.

Barça's offer is more likely to be €40m plus up to €8-10m in add-ons. From here, it's a case of clarifying postures and sorting the final details.

Lewandowski has already played his part, making it clear he wants to leave the German champions, but Bayern have always been tough negotiators. This time, though, everything indicates an agreement will be struck sooner than later.
