The left back is speaking to the club about a renewal but is open to a move

Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has confirmed that he's negotiating a contract renewal with Bayern Munich but for now "only wants to focus on the Champions League", leaving his future in the air. His contract ends in 2021 at the moment.

The Austrian left-back has been an objective for Barcelona, with his name also linked to Real Madrid, who tried for him in 2018. His father, George Alaba, has been in Camp Nou's offices various times, but a deal was never possible.

Bayer have refused to negotiate for him and now he may put pen to paper on a new deal which would stop him ever coming.

Barca have recognised on various occasions that there have been contacts, including with his people getting in touch, but a deal could not materialise. If Barca can get him they will - the door is open for him.
