Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu played Father Christmas before the Espanyol game, going down to the dressing room to give all the players and members of the first team staff a Christmas present.
They all received an iPhone 7 after a year in which they won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup. Bartomeu gave them the presents on Sunday as some players were leaving for their Christmas break after the derby.
However, not everyone received the exact same present. While the players and coaches were given an iPhone 7 128GB, the rest of the staff (medics, physios, kitmen) received the same phone but ‘only’ the 32GB version.
There’s no doubt they’re both good phones, the latest from American company Apple. However, while one is worth 769 euros, the other is priced at 879 euros, 110 euros more.
