Bartomeu has no doubt Leo Messi will stay at Barca

Josep Maria Bartomeu said that Leo Messi will stay at Barca in his opinion. The president spoke on RAC1 and Catalunya Radio. 

"I have no doubt that Messi will stay at Barca," said Bartomeu. "We don't like to get into these things but it's evident we have the obligation to renew his deal, the best player in football history. He's got many years to go and regarding the reports in recent days, I would say they always come from Cadena SER."

That radio station had claimed that Messi was looking to leave Barcelona at the end of his deal.

"Leo has said many times he wants to retire at Barca, I have no doubts that he will retire at Barca. And not with me, with another president."

Asked about his relationship with Messi, Bartomeu added: "I speak with the players occasionally. Not just Leo but the group, especially the captains. Lately we've had a lot to talk about."
