The Catalans were not able to bring back the injured players

FC Barcelona have announced their squad for Sunday's game against Valencia (16:15h CET). After the narrow win at the Bernabeu in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Madrid in midweek, Xavi Hernandez and his players will be looking to get back to winning ways in the league.

The Blaugrana missed out on Carlo Ancelotti's side's draw against Atlético de Madrid in the last round of La Liga, losing 1-0 in Almería. Although the gap to Los Blancos remains considerable (+7 points), Barça cannot relax and must take all three points to stay firmly at the top of the table.

Barca will face a Valencia side who are experiencing one of the most complicated seasons in recent memory, with the reality of relegation looming ever more dangerously close. The 'Che' team arrives at the game in the relegation places, but with a joy in the form of a victory last weekend against Real Sociedad, the third-placed team, and that should give wings to the team coached by Rubén Baraja, forced to continue taking points to change their situation.

The squad has been marked by the absence of Robert Lewandowski, Pedri and Ousmane Dembélé through injury, as well as the suspension of Gavi due to an accumulation of yellow cards. He will not be the only absentee in this respect, as Xavi Hernandez will also have to follow the game from the stands having been cautioned five times.

The official squad consists of Ter Stegen, Araujo, Sergio, Ansu Fati, Ferran, Iñaki Peña, Christensen, Marcos Alonso, Jordi Alba, Kessie, Sergi Roberto, Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha, Koundé, Eric, Balde, Pablo Torre, Arnau Tenas, Alarcón and Estanis.
