The club are working on various deals and have the players already on board

Barcelona are looking at making several signings now that the financial leverage they need has been arranged.

There are five players with whom they have agreed personal terms and just need to negotiate their sales with their current clubs.

Barcelona have to sell players, including perhaps Frenkie de Jong, and negotiate pay cuts with players who are on too much money at the moment.

Andreas Christensen at Chelsea and Franck Kessie of AC Milan have been signed on free deals effectively. They can be registered and will be soon. The contracts are likely to be three to four years long.

Those deals were agreed in January. Now the priority is Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski. Barcelona and the the forward reached an agreement in February for two seasons, plus one more additional year. And with the goalscorer tied up, Barcelona were waiting for news from Bayern. Lewandowski has been working on forcing his way out and direct official contact should happen between the clubs next week. Barcelona are convinced they can get hit him for a little more than 30 million euros and announce the deal from July 1.

The other two cases are Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta. The fullbacks are priorities and they are trying to negotiate with Chelsea, who are not being flexible in the case of Azpilicueta especially. Barcelona will have to pay for them, albeit not big fees.

The duo are in contact with Xavi, who has told them to be calm and showed his confidence in them. The two have other offers but they are being patient with Barcelona and will soon get their reward.

With those five deals sealed, the club will keep working to reinforce the centre of defence and the right wing position, while a midfielder is also needed if De Jong leaves.
