Barcelona's Plan B if Erling Haaland does not come this summer
The Norwegian forward is the hottest name on the transfer market going forward
Signing Erling Haaland is Joan Laporta’s obsession. He believes the Norwegian will help on and off the pitch, getting Barcelona back to where they belong.
Haaland will have plenty of options though, including Real Madrid, who have more financial muscle. If Barcelona get him then they will not be able to sign any more players barring that they come for free.
However they are working on a plan B, for if Haaland decides to go elsewhere or stay at Dortmund, although that is virtually impossible.
The idea would be to sign a centre-forward at a high level and a top defender. There are a lot of names but two stand out, Alexander Isak and Jules Kounde.
The former was close to coming last summer. The latter is a player Xavi likes a lot but could cost a lot. Chelsea tried to sign him last summer but did not want to pay his 80m euro release clause.
