The midfielder made the difference in Sunday's 1-0 win at Camp Nou

Pedri was the star as Barcelona beat Sevilla 1-0 on Sunday in LaLiga to leapfrog the Andalusians into second place in the table.

The midfielder struck the winning goal in the 72nd minute, dummying two shots before unleashing a low drive into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

"The goal was similar to the one I scored in Turkey (against Galatasaray)," he said. "I saw the leg coming so I feigned (the shot) and once I shoot I know it is going in."

Camp Nou repeatedly sang Pedri's name after his goal in the latest show of affection towards the team's new superstar.

"It's crazy," he said of the chants. "I feel really loved here. They've taken me in from the first day, they're the best fans in the world and they deserve this (win)."

On the game, he added: "Sevilla are a really good side. It was a difficult game but we managed to get the win. We're second now and we will go after the first place.

"We know winning LaLiga will be difficult, but we are Barça and we have to fight to be top. Madrid are also having to work hard (to win games). We're going to try."

Barça were ninth when Xavi took over in November but are now second and Pedri explained the changes to the team.

"We press better, are calmer (on the ball) and we have a lot of firepower with the new signings," he said.
