The club have a first team of 27 players before anymore signings

Despite the excess of midfielders, only Douglas looks set to leave soon

Barcelona are aware they have to move players on this week. They have 27 players in the first team squad at the moment before even taking into account any signings which may be made.

There are many open cases which need resolving and it seems that only Douglas' days are close to ending at the club. The right-back has an offer back in Brazil, one in Spain and Benfica are also interested.

Other cases are looking more difficult to find solutions to...

SAMPER WANTS TO BE RELEASED

Sergi Samper has known for a few days that Barça don't count on him for the first team. Ernesto Valverde has told him he can go out on loan again.

The club feel Samper didn't choose the right project last season by going to Granada and he hasn't progressed. Girona and Las Palmas have been mentioned this summer, Alaves are also keen and it could be a big week.

Samper had hoped to leave for free, but instead a loan looks morel ikely.

arda and an offer from galatasaray

Barça would have liked to move Arda Turan on for a decent fee. There was a good option in China, but since January it's seemed unlikely that he would move to the Far Easy. With that closed, the club looked to move him to the Premier League. There was interest from Arsenal, but nothing in conrete. Finally, Galatasaray emerged as an option. The Turkish club only want a loan with an option to buy, though.

Inter Milan have also come on to the scene late on, but there's been no offer yet. If they don't make one, it's likely Turan will return home on loan to make some space in Barça's midfield.

doubts over rafinha's exit

Rafinha was seriously planning to leave this summer. He wanted a more important role and there was interest elsewhere. The Brazilian, though, could now stay after the departure of Neymar.

An injury has forced him to miss preseason and that's stopped him getting a move, too. Despite everything, he's a highly-rated player in the Premier League and in Serie A. Barça don't plan on selling him, but are also aware he will not be a regular this season.

roma keen on munir

Munir and Barça are at odds over his future. The club want 12 million euros if he is to leave and there are clubs who will pay it, such as Ajax and Zenit. La Liga sides have also shown an interest, albeit regarding a loan move.

However, the player wants to move to Roma. Barça will not accept the Italian club's offer, though, and are currently blocking the transfer. The two clubs are far apart at the moment, but Munir hopes they will come to an agreement.

juventus pressing for andre gomes

Andre Gomes has many suitors. As he did last summer when Barça signed him. Lots of clubs pressed for him, but in the end he chose to move to Camp Nou. However, he's not adpated well. This summer, his agent, Jorge Mendes, presented offers from the Premier League, but Barça always said no. In the original deal with Valencia, it seems a transfer so soon would see Barça lose a lot of money. Which they don't want to do, of course.

Juventus have been in touch with the club and, to get around those problems, have made an offer for a paid loan. The Italians understand Barça could be interested in saving on the player's wages and looking at the situation again next summer. But the Catalan club also have doubts because they are convinced Gomes will end up being a Camp Nou success.

vermaelen: fourth centre-back?

Thomas Vermaelen was more out than in when preseason began. The club told him he should look for a new team and he got to work. With time, though, and another injury, the offers have slowed up. The ones that have arrived have been to low and Barça don't want to loan him and pay a chunk of his wages. As of today, he's an option to be the fourth centre-back until January.

The coaching staff believe he's a good player, but his handicap is injuries. As fourth centre-back he may be OK. That could see Marlon Santos go on loan, while Mina may then join in January.
