Marlon is close to leaving Barcelona. He was not in the squad for the Spanish Super Cup and the club have given him the go ahead to find an exit. The Brazilian drew interest from Sunderland and West Ham and could not go to Newcastle on loan because he was not afforded a work permit.
A new offer has arrived from German side Schalke and everything could be solved in the coming hours, with Barcelona hoping to add more millions to their incomings. Having sold Thilo Kehrer to PSG for 37 million euros, Schalke are negotiating with Barcelona and could reinvest 15m of them in Marlon, though as of now there is no definitive agreement. Barcelona want to seal the operation and Marlon has given the nod despite interest from two Italian sides.
Marlon played on loan at Nice last season and did well. His agents are in charge of this operation and hope that a deal can be reached quickly. It would be another good sale by Barcelona in a summer they have raked in a fair amount of money.
