The connection between Messi, Suarez and Griezmann was fantastic against Villarreal

If football was only numbers, it would never have become the king of sports. That's why Antoine Griezmann's stats, which are notable in his first season, don't go along with the feeling that he's been disappointing. He scored his 15th goal of the season at Villarreal, the same Neymar managed in his first campaign.

He did, however, play very well against Villarreal and gave Barcelona a chance to dream. He looked happy in the game and played with the skill and flair expected of him. It was his best match since arriving last summer. It came after he was given a wake up call by Setien, who only played him in stoppage time in the Atletico Madrid draw.

Antoine, playing on the left wing, was a nobody, which made Barca's 120 million euros lavished on him look altogether too high a fee. His football was predictable and far from the heights he had reached at Atletico or with France. This new Griezmann is a boost for Barcelona's Champions League hopes.

No complaints among the trident against Villarreal, just good vibes and great goals. Messi playing behind Antoine and Suarez was unstoppable and all three shone. Let's see what happens next.
