Barcelona will deposit the €35m buyout clause on the 1st July, making him the club's first signing of the summer

According to what SPORT has heard from sources close to the Sevilla player, Clement Lenglet will move to Barcelona on the 1st July after the club has agreed to pay his buyout clause. This is an agreement which was reached between Sevilla, Barcelona and Lenglet on Wednesday to avoid any potential problems arising between the two clubs.

Just as this newspaper told you, the agreement between Barcelona and Lenglet is complete. The player has told those closest to him that he'll be playing for Barcelona next season and will sign a five-year contract.

The final price for the defender will be around €35m and Lenglet is seen as one of the most important transfers ahead of the 2018/19 season. Barcelona needed to strengthen their defence because Yerry Mina failed to impress as well as Thomas Vermaelen's continuous injury problems. Lenglet would offer more stability and is ready to compete with Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti for a starting place.

The signing of Lenglet, after Antoine Griezmann's 'no', will be Barcelona's first ahead of the next season. The club hopes to sign a central midfielder and a new striker before the window closes.
