Araujo and Gavi should join Ansu, Pedri and Ferran with huge buyout clauses

Barcelona are working to close contract renewals for Ronald Araujo and Gavi as soon as possible. They're two talented young players for the present and the future and Barça want to tie them down with a huge release clause.

Defender Araujo's current deal is up in 2023, as is midfielder Gavi's, and Barça want to make sure they don't lost the 22 and 17-year-old.

Therefore, Barça hope to agree contract extensions until 20217 with the duo and the terms will also include a €1 billion release clause, as was the case in the renewals signed by Ansu Fati and Pedri and also included in Ferran Torres' deal.

Barça's billion euro club

So, when Araujo and Gavi renew, Barça will have five players in the billion euro club: Ansu, Pedri, Ferran, Araujo and Gavi. Players that can bring a lot of joy to Xavi's team in the coming years.

It's a big leap compared to other deals at the club. Ter Stegen and Memphis have 500 million clauses, while Frenkie de Jong's is 400 million, for example.
