The midfielder has been part of Koeman's plans since the turn of the year

Barcelona will ask the Spanish Football Federation to remove Ilaix Moriba from the Spain U19 squad for this month's training camp.

The Barça midfielder has been summoned between Feb. 22 and Feb. 25 to join up with Santi Denia's team for a number of sessions, although there are no games planned.

At the same time, Barça are due to play Elche at Camp Nou on Feb. 24. Ronald Koeman's side are struggling with injuries in players like Pedri and Frenkie de Jong have been forced to play a lot of minutes, so Ilaix's presence is considered fundamental.

That Elche game is midweek and comes during a busy run of fixtures for Barça, with back-to-back matches against Seville to follow.

Ilaix, 18, has made two appearances for the first team this season, against Cornella in the Copa del Rey and against Alaves in La Liga, starting both games.
