The Dutchman is going to Paris so the Catalans have turned elsewhere

Georginio Wijnaldum’s decision to join PSG has given Barcelona the need to look elsewhere to reinforce their midfield.

Napoli’s Fabian Ruiz is a key target. Catalunya Radio explained that on Sunday and it’s true that the former Real Betis man has been on Barcelona’s radar for some time.

The deal is hard because Napoli chief De Laurentiis is not one to negotiate easily and Barca’s economic situation is weak.

The radio station says Barca are planning to formally speak with Napoli over Ruiz in the coming days. The Italian side are not in the next Champions League but still want around 50 million euros for Ruiz, a figure Barca can’t get close to.

He’s in the Spain Euro 2020 squad and Barca will be watching closely.
