Barcelona target Gündogan admits he is "negotiating" his future

The Manchester City striker will be available for free this summer if he doesn't renew

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gündogan, who could leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires, has spoken about his future (possibly at FC Barcelona), although he has not specified whether he will continue in the Premier League or start a new adventure elsewhere.

Gündogan admitted that "there are conversations in private, I think that's normal." The player added at Wednesday's pre-Bayern press conference in Munich that "without going into too much detail, nothing has been decided yet, so negotiations are continuing and if there is a decision, you will be the first to know."

On Bayern, who lost 3-0 at City in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal, Gündogan said: "They are the biggest club in Germany and they fight for every trophy every year. They are very ambitious. I expect them to do their best tomorrow. They will want to show that they are one of the best teams in the world."

On the competition, Gündogan commented that "the further you go, the hungrier you get to win it. Most of the squad came close a couple of years ago but it wasn't to be, which increases the desire to get back to the final and win the trophy."
