Barcelona struggling to reach a salary agreement with Busquets
The club want to offer an extension with deferred wages
FC Barcelona and Sergio Busquets have still not reached an agreement over a salary adjustment. The Barça captain offered to help the club with a reduction where possible but they have so far not been able to come up with a formula that satisfies all parties.
Busquets, who is out of contract in 2023, is likely to leave Barça at the end of his current deal. His focus is on this season and the World Cup in Qatar with Spain.
Barça, meanwhile, wanted to offer a one-year extension with salary deferred until the following season. For now, that is not something the midfielder is contemplating.
Remember that Busquets already agreed to adjust his salary last summer to help the club with registration issues.
