The Uruguayan's goals have once again been recognised

Barcelona's Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez finds himself on the list of nominees for the 2017 Ballon d'Or, as chosen by the French magazine France Football. The magazine is revealing the 30 nominees throughout the day on Monday. Suarez was also nominated last year.

His chances of being in the top three, however, is not big, given that Cristiano Ronaldo, who is just one Ballon d'Or (2008, 2013, 2014 and 2016) short of Lionel Messi (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015), and Barça star Messi are favourites to be in the final two again. Neymar could complete the podium.

The reason that Suarez is in the top 30, according to France Football, is that "he is one of the best in the world in his position, despite the fact this year has been less impressive than his record year in 2016. He has scored 24 goals in all competitions."
