Barcelona striker Luis Suarez: Bayern are a great side, it's 50-50

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez spoke to Movistar after Saturday's 3-1 win over Napoli set up a quarterfinal showdown with Bayern Munich. 

Suarez scored the third goal from the penalty spot after efforts from Clement Lenglet and Lionel Messi. 

Here's what the Uruguayan international had to say:

European progress: 

It's what we wanted. Since La Liga finished three weeks ago we have been preparing for this game knowing the problems Napoli caused us in the first leg. The important thing was to get through and now think about the next round.

Mertens off the woodwork: 

Napoli are a side that create a lot of chances in their league. We knew they would get opportunities. We had a scare early on but they didn't take the chance and then we scored. 

Tough second half:

We had to think about getting through in the second half. We knew they were going to press high, leaving very little space... We're satisfied with the way we played in the first half. 

Quarterfinal: 

Bayern? Anyone has a chance in a one-off game. It's 50-50. They're a great side, one of the favourites (for the Champions League), along with everyone going to the final eight in Lisbon. But it's 11 vs. 11 for 90 minutes...

"Era lo que queríamos. Hace dos semanas que acabó la liga y llevamos todo ese tiempo preparando este partido contra un rival que nos lo puso difícil en la ida y hoy también por momentos. Lo importante es que hemos pasado y ahora tenemos unos días para pensar en el Bayern", ha explicado el uruguayo a los micrófonos de 'Movistar Liga de Campeones'.

"Sabíamos de las dificultades del rival. Generan muchas ocasiones en su liga y sabíamos que nos iban a crear algunas. Nos llevamos un susto principio, pero por suerte no entró y convertimos nosotros primero", prosiguió el charrúa.

Suárez integró de inicio un 'tridente' en ataque junto a un estelar Leo Messi y a un Antoine Griezmann que no vio traducido el tremendo derroche físico que ofreció sobre el césped.

"A medida que avanzan minutos el equipo va generando ocasiones. Nos pusimos 3-0 y ellos con el 3-1 nos crearon un poco de preocupación. En la segunda parte sabíamos a que nos iban a presionar, pero nos da tranquilidad cómo hemos manejado el partido", recalcó el '9' del Barça.
