The robbery took place at the forward's house in the early hours of Monday morning

Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the victim of an armed robbery at his house in Castelldefels on Monday, according to El Pais.

Four people broke into Aubameyang's property with guns and iron bars and forced the ex-Arsenal man to open a safe that was filled with jewelry and other expensive items.

According to RAC1, Auba and his wife were handcuffed and tied up on the floor for an hour. The same report says he was struck by an iron bar, although neither he nor his wife suffered serious injuries.

Their children were also in the house.

Radio reports have explained that both Auba and his wife preferred not to go to the hospital to not further scare the kids and have given statements to the police.

The thieves, who spoke Italian between themselves, escaped in a white Audi A3, per witnesses, and the police are searching for them. It was Auba's wife that phoned to report the crime at around 1am on Monday morning.
