Barcelona squad welcome trio of new signings with a special lunch

The players met at Masia Can Ferran to toast Griezmann, De Jong and Neto arrivals

The Barcelona squad were able to take a breath after training on Thursday morning with no double session planned and the majority of the players met at Masia Can Ferran in Sant Quirze del Vallès to share lunch.

It was a way of welcoming the new signings and, at the same time, having a good time during what has been an especially intense week, with sessions from Monday through until Saturday, when they travel to Japan.

Griezmann, De Jong and Neto had the chance to get to know their new teammates more intimately. The Frenchman is the player who has adapted quickest to his new surroundings so far, thanks to the presence of international teammates Umtiti and Dembele. De Jong and Neto don't have that advantage so the lunch served them well.

It was the footballers themselves who took the initiative and organised the dinner, without the coaches. It was a way of talking in a more relaxed manner on a rare day when there was no evening training session.

The fatigue of a busy week caught up with them, though, and by 16.00h they had begun to leave the restaurant. On Friday, another double session awaits them and they needed their rest.
