The Danish striker signed on Thursday, training on Friday and could play on Saturday

Martin Braithwaite, Barcelona's latest signing, trained with his new teammates for the first time on Friday and got to know the players he is going to spend the next few months, at least, playing alongside.

Braithwaite stepped on to the training pitch at the Ciutat Esportiva with a big smile on his face and, after exchanging words with coach Quique Setien, the players gave him a guard of honour, the traditional welcome for new players.

The Danish international, signed from Leganes for 18 million euros, then began a warmup ahead of training with his new club.

Just over 24 hours ago he had been training under Leganes coach Javier Aguirre, but not he begins a new life away from the relegation battle and in the fight for the La Liga title. Barça currently trail Real Madrid by one point.

Everything suggests he will be in the squad for Saturday's game at Camp Nou against Eibar. Coach Quique Setien has a lack of fit forwards, so may even throw Braithwaite in from the start.
