Barcelona setting key meeting with Haaland and Raiola for March

The striker is wanted by half of Europe and he has a big decision to make in the coming months

The key part of the game will be played in March, when the decisive movements for Erling Haaland start to happen. The Norwegian striker and his agent Mino Raiola have had good conversations with Borussia Dortmund, whom they will tell their decision to soon. They are preparing a meeting with Barcelona president Joan Laporta in March where he will put forward Barcelona's final offer and try to beat Manchester City and Real Madrid to the striker. Haaland is an absolute priority for Barça. The club are convinced they will be able to sign him even though it might see them needing to make a sale of a big player in the summer to afford it.

From there the intention is to convince the player in March and hope he decides to join Barcelona. What is sure is that Real Madrid's economic offer will be the stronger. Madrid have moved with the conviction that they can sign Haaland and PSG star Kylian Mbappé and fit them in the same team. Florentino Pérez thinks Haaland might like playing in the same team as Mbappé, where they can form a world-class duo upfront. Meanwhile at Barça he will be the leader of the attack, something else which could benefit his professional career.

Man City also desperately need a striker having failed to sign Harry Kane last summer and they also have the financial muscle to pull off the deal although Haaland would rather play in Spain than in the Premier League for now. PSG might make a move if they cannot keep Mbappe.

Barcelona are conscious that it will be very difficult but they will be in the final push for the player and it will end up being Haaland’s choice. The relationship with Raiola is very good but in the end it's the forward who will make the decision.
