Cury says he feels OK and is self isolating for the time being

Coronavirus has arrived at Barcelona. The club's scout in Brazil, Andre Cury, has tested positive for Covid-19. He says he feels OK and is currently self-isolating at home, along with his wife, who has also tested positive.

Both are quarantined in Sao Paulo and have not needed to be hospitalised. Their symptoms are minor and they are not struggling to breathe. It's the first case of a Barça employee contracting the virus. Despite not being a player for the first team or a member of the board, he plays an important role at the club.

He is in charge of scouting and helping to sign players from South America, mostly in Brazil. He has participated in deals that saw Neymar, Arthur, Yerry Mina and Paulinho move to Camp Nou.

It is possible that Cury was infected on a recent trip to Porto Alegre. While there, he met with Inter de Porto Alegre president Marcelo Medeiros, who last Friday announced he had coronavirus. There are 20 deaths in Brazil so far and more than 1,000 cases, but the government, led by Bolsonaro, has not yet taken drastic measures.
