The club say that they have not heard from the Argentine star saying he wants out
Barcelona have denied that Lionel Messi has told them he wants to leave the club this summer. The Catalans wanted to move to stop rumours about an exit.
Marcelo Bechler, a journalist for Esporte Interative, claimed on Twitter that "the board is informed" of the forward's desire to leave the club.
"Messi wants to leave Barcelona now," said Bechler, saying he's "never seen Messi so outside of Barca in so many years here."
However a club source says that is not the case, despite the 8-2 hammering by Bayern Munich.
SPORT have learned that Barca have not heard from their captain and star. He has a contract until next summer, when he can leave for free if he wishes. Until then he has a 700 million euro release clause.
