Ivan Rakitic suffered a hamstring strain while on international duty with Croatia

FC Barcelona's Ivan Rakitic will only be out for a few days. After undergoing various different tests at the club, the medical team have confirmed that the midfielder has "strained the semimembranosus muscle in his right hamstring". That's a positive outcome as it confirms there isn't any muscle tear.

Rakitic had to come off in the match between Croatia and Spain in the UEFA Nations League after feeling discomfort in his thigh. He'll now sit out his country's match against England and instead begin his recovery at Barcelona.

Even though Barça haven't revealed the exact length of time Rakitic will be out, it was already known that he wouldn't be available for the next LaLiga match against Atletico Madrid. The midfielder was sent off in the last league encounter, vs Betis, and will serve a one-match suspension.
