The right back is not adapting well and cannot play

We reported in SPORT about a month ago that Julian Araujo is not having an easy time adapting to FC Barcelona's system of play. The added problem of not being able to compete until next season is not helping the Mexican right-back, who joined the Blaugrana in the winter transfer window from Los Angeles Galaxy. The blow he suffered on the last day of January, when he could not be registered in time, has affected him considerably.

The positional game and the unique style of Barça play requires time to adapt and forces the players to be very quick both mentally and in their decision making. And, for the moment, Julián Araujo is not convincing Xavi Hernandez's coaching staff. That is why the sporting management has already taken a decision on the future of the young player (21 years old). In the summer, he will go out on loan.

Barça officials believe that this is the best solution to help him adapt to European football. Araujo needs a run in a team and a leading role that he will not be able to have at Barça next season. Right-back is one of the positions that Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff want to reinforce and, in case they do not succeed, Xavi continues to rely on Jules Koundé and Sergi Roberto as 'patches' in the spot.

Both the Catalan club and the defender are very clear that, after missing the second half of the season, Araujo needs minutes to grow and cannot have a bit-part role. We will see if Barça find a destination that fits in with the player's plans and helps him develop at all levels.
