Barcelona pressing Lionel Messi to return this summer when PSG deal ends

Cruyff and Masip both spoke about his possible return on Tuesday

Lionel Andrés Messi's name continues to echo in every nook and cranny of Spotify Camp Nou, in the offices of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, in the streets of Barcelona and in the homes of almost all Barcelona fans, who hope for an early and favourable outcome regarding the return of the forward.

And in this context of the Argentine's decision, of the tempos and of so much information coming from all sides, several Barcelona representatives have made reference to Leo at the Gala Culer de L'any, celebrated jointly between FC Barcelona and SPORT.

Jordi Cruyff, still sporting director of the club, commented that "the decision is Leo's. It will depend on 'fair play' and 'on him. It will depend on 'fair play' and on him, but I think that right now it depends (more) on him. He is playing with (PSG) still, he has one league game left and we are not going to talk about his future.

"The decision is up to him, he's finishing his contract, I'm sure many teams want him and the decision is up to him. If the club is trying, it's because they can. Now it's up to him, when a player finishes his contract, everything depends on him."

Meanwhile, Enric Masip, member of the technical secretariat, commented that "we are pending an important issue which is fair play and when we have an answer, we could be able to do it. Barça have to look at their situation. We are always optimistic, but we have to understand fair play and wait. I don't think what happened two years ago has any influence, I think the situation between him and the president is settled."
