Barcelona pressing for a Yannick Carrasco loan deal
The Belgian winger is of interest with Memphis already moving to Atletico
Xavi wants a replacement for Memphis Depay, who is going to Atletico Madrid, and Barca are working on it. They want Yannick Carrasco, who would like to play at Camp Nou. Atletico did not want to negotiate an exchange deal, but now Barca are looking at a potential loan, after Memphis’ switch was all but sealed.
Carrasco has told Atletico that he would like to move to Barca. His club said no to a swap, but Barca are now looking at other formulas to bring him in. One could be a loan with an option to buy, as his deal ends in 2024. Another could be that he joins from the summer.
His agent, Pini Zahavi, has openly stated that he’s working on a deal. Memphis’s switch may seem like it shut the doors to Carrasco going the other way, but Barcelona understand there are still moves to make.
