Marc-Andre ter Stegen 5 - Was hard for him to ‘play’ here. His team-mates let him down with the penalty and the Fekir chance.

Ivan San Antonio

Nelson Semedo 4 - Hyperactive in a negative sense. Too nervous in defence, not comfortable.

Samuel Umtiti 3 - Playing at right centre-back he felt asphyxiating pressure. Bad for Fekir’s goal.

Clement Lenglet 5 - Started nervously, gave away a penalty, scored a goal and then was sent off. Busy day.

Junior Firpo 4 - Didn’t have a second to breathe. Took on the challenge but lost out to Emerson.

Sergio Busqués 6 - Suffered a lot but scored Barca’s second goal. Had to stop attacks with fouls.

Frenkie de Jong 7 - The Dutchman was always dangerous, linking well with Messi. Scored the first for Barca. Honey-like touch to control it and finished well.

Arturo Vidal 4 - Played with liberty going forward but gave the ball away foe Betis’s second and after that was a disaster. Subbed off.

Sergi Roberto 4 - Back in midfield but lacked personality and lucky not to be sent off.

Leo Messi 8 - Kicked at the start, kicked at the end, three assists in between. Still no goals but still crucial.

Antoine Griezmann 4 - Ran with generosity, but was timid and imprecise when trying to help in attack.

Alba 6

Arthur 7

Rakitic 4
