The Dutch striker could extend his stay at Camp Nou by an additional two years

Barça remain open to selling him for a big offer but are also happy to keep him

Memphis Depay could have a role to play in Barcelona's future. The club are negotiating a contract renewal until 2025 even though he remains on the market and could leave if a big offer arrives.

The Dutch striker wants to stay and has told the club he's open to renewing rather than going into the final year of his contract. Talks have progressed pending the result of Thursday's vote in the general assembly and it's probably an agreement is reached that does not impose an added cost on the wage bill.

Memphis turned down big offers to join Barça on a free transfer last summer. After the appointment of Xavi Hernandez, after being the regular No.9 until an injury and the January signings, his role was reduced. However, he showed his strength in the final stretch of the season.

He is aware the possible arrivals of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha could harm his minutes, but he is ready for the challenge.

Arsenal are interested but have not taken that interest further, so Barça have accelerated renewal talks. The idea is a contract until 2025 with his current deal expiring in 2023.
