Riyad Mahrez's days at Leicester City may be numbered. According to The Guardian, the player wants to leave the club this summer and his intention is to find a team playing Champions League football.
Mahrez was offered to Barcelona before and he's a player who interests the club. In fact, last season Barça did think about making a move, but in the end decided not to after Leicester declared him 'non-transferrable'. Things are different now: Mahrez is on the market and is likely to leave.
The attacking midfielder feels he must leave the English club to continue progressing as a player. Last summer he stayed on the back of wage increase and with the promise of Champions League football. But now he doesn't have the same luxuries and feels he will stall if he does not make a switch.
Barça like Mahrez's speed out wide and his technique. He's a player who should be able to adapt quickly, due to his qualities. He has Barça's style and is one of the players that will be looked at and talked about in the coming weeks. Mahrez's wages would not be a problem, either.
