The former Milan player is not playing as much as he would like following summer move

Franck Kessie was not among the 16 players to feature in Barcelona's win over Villarreal. The Ivory Coast midfielder is struggling to break into Xavi's team. In fact, in the last five games, he has played a total of 35 minutes. He knew it would not be easy to break into a team where there is already Pedri, Gavi and Frenkie de Jong, but he will not throw in the towel.

Kessie is a team player and is always at the disposition of the team and his coach. He arrived after playing nearly every minutes and being important at Milan, but he is strong mentally and confident chances will arrive. He is training to be 100% when those opportunities do come. He is happy with the decision he made in the summer and will not give up so soon.

WORKING ALONE AFTER VILLARREAL

In fact, SPORT have learned that he worked out alone at his house after the Villarreal game until late in the night. It should also be kept in mind that Ivory Coast have not qualified for the World Cup, so he will have time to rest and get in shape next month.

The majority of the Barça squad will return in December after playing a lot of games and some long journeys. Therefore, at the end of the year, his freshness could be a big boost. Meanwhile, his immediate focus is on Sunday's game, at home to Athletic Club.
