Turan leaves on a two-and-a-half year loan deal

Barça could still sell him to other clubs in the next two years

Barcelona have confirmed that Arda Turan has joined Istanbul Basaksehir on a two-and-ahalf year loan deal.

Basaksehir will pay Barça variables depending on Turan's performances back in Turkey, a country he left in 2011 to joing Atletico Madrid from Galatasaray.

Turan has a contract with Barça until 2020 and the Catalan club maintain the right to sell him in any of UEFA's official transfer windows during the next two years.

Talks intensified this week after Basaksehir confirmed they'd reached an agreement over personal terms with Turan.

Turan joined Barça for €35 million from Atletico in 2015 but failed to break into the team, instead being the backup option to Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

However, Neymar's departure did not open the door to a regular spot as new coach Ernesto Valverde preferred other options.

In fact, Turan leaves having not played a single minute of competitive football for Barcelona this month.
