Barcelona making a new offer for Lewandowski to convince Bayern

The Polish striker wants to come to Camp Nou this summer and will not extend in Bavaria

Barcelona are still pushing to sign Robert Lewandowski. Bayern Munich did not accept their first offer and per Bild, Barcelona will make a new bid this week. The Catalans will bid 32 million euros plus 5 million in variables, numbers a little lower than what Bayern are likely to pay to sign Sadio Mane from Liverpool.

Bayern want to have the guarantee and security that Barcelona aren’t going to U-turn and that an agreement will be binding if it is reached. Barcelona aren’t in a hurry, having agreed a deal with the player and are waiting to vote on the economic actions the club can take this week.

Chelsea and Manchester United have shown interest but Barcelona are in pole position for the striker, who will sign a two year deal plus a third optional year.

To avoid problems, all parties think it’s better if Lewandowski does not link up with Bayern in pre-season and it can be arranged so he joins Barcelona sooner rather than later.
