The midfielder has just one year to run on his contract in England

Barça and Juve would be interested if he was available this summer

Ilkay Gundogan is in no rush to renew his Manchester City contract. At 31 and with a deal until 2023, the German midfielder knows this is his last chance to try his luck at another top-level club and he needs to play regularly before the World Cup at the end of the year.

Gündogan knows that Barcelona and Juventus are both tracking his situation and has not ruled out a change of scenery, according to the German newspaper Bild.

City are open to renewing his deal, but the player is unhappy with the way his situation has been managed by coach Pep Guardiola in the second half of the season, even though he has been named the team's second captain.

The former Borussia Dortmund man does not want a bench role and his options are staying at the Etihad Stadium or forcing a transfer to Barcelona or Turin.
