The Al Sadd manager will take charge after the international break vs. Espanyol

FC Barcelona will finalise the appointment of Xavi Hernandez either on Wednesday or Thursday in Doha. The former Barça midfielder will be the club's new coach, as SPORT first revealed last Thursday.

Barça vice president Rafa Yuste and director of football Mateu Alemany are set to meet with Al Sadd owner Mohammed bin Hamad after the Qatari club's game vs. Al-Duhail on Wednesday to finalise an agreement.

SPORT have learned that Xavi will sign a deal with Barça until 2024 and will earn less than he currently earns in his role as Al Sadd coach.

In addition, Barça will not be obliged to pay any penalty fee to Al Sadd, just finalise the agreement formally, hence Yuste and Alemany's trip to Doha.

BARJUAN VS. CELTA

Xavi's expected in Barcelona before the end of the week, but it will be interim coach Sergi Barjuan who remains in charge for Saturday's game at Balaidos against Celta Vigo. Xavi could be presented on Monday at Camp Nou.
