Barcelona held meeting with Mesut Ozil's agent last week
Erkut Sögut met with Pep Segura in the Catalan city
Barça transmitted their interest in the German international
A few days ago, SPORT revealed that Raul Sanllehi, before leaving Barcelona for Arsenal, made one final move with regards to the Catalan club's interest in Mesut Ozil.
That move served for a meeting between Ozil's agent and Barça to speak about a possible January transfer. A meeting has now taken place and SPORT can confirm that last Thursday, Erkut Sögut met with Pep Segura in Barcelona.
The meeting served to touch bases and clear things up. Firstly, Barça are clear now that Ozil wants to join the club. In addition, the agent assured the club the player player has Arsenal's blessing to talk about a January move -- providing a reasonable price is paid.
Sources at Barça have confirmed that Ozil's liked by many at the club but that there are other priorities on the table, namely Philippe Coutinho.
Talks to begin the Brazilian in are advanced and there is optimism that he will finally be able to leave Liverpool.
